School visit

One of the things I’d been looking forward to as a new author was meeting young readers at school visits and library events. Sadly, the pandemic threw a spanner in the works, and my carefully prepared, action-packed workshops have been gathering dust. So, today was a very special day, blowing off the dust (in a covid-secure way of course), and heading out on my first in-person school visit!

Donning my cat hat!

The children were absolutely brilliant, full of imaginative ideas, and great at asking questions. Copies of The Spellbinding Secret of Avery Buckle were supplied by local indie bookshop, Owl and Pyramid, so each child had a book to take home and read over half-term. It was an absolute treat to be there, and the beginnings of some really wonderful stories were hatched!

Below is the view from the school gate and out to sea… 🙂
